Is Taurus the Most Royal Zodiac Sign?

What do Queen Elizabeth, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, and Baby Sussex all have in common? Well, other than being blood relatives (probably their defining commonality), they all share the same zodiac sign—Taurus. Yes, Queen Elizabeth (born April 21), Prince Louis (born April 23), Princess Charlotte (born May 4) and Baby Sussex (to be born imminently) are all earth signs.

“A lot of times family members will be born under the same sign, because family relationships are very karmic,” she tells Vogue. (Bell explains that karmic can mean each person has important lessons to learn from the other.)

And, it turns out, there’s more than one reason why the royal family is full of bulls.

Many of their characteristics—reliable, hardworking, dedicated aesthetes with a tendency to stick with the familiar—are the very ones that make the monarchy, well, the monarchy. Queen Elizabeth is an essential Taurus, starting with her signature bright outfits and tried-and-true handbags.

“The most obvious sign that Queen Elizabeth is a Taurus is with what she wears. Sticking to the same silhouette skirtsuit every day in different colors is a Taurus thing to do, because Taureans stick with what they know works,” says Bell.

But it also goes way beyond the surface. “You can also tell she’s a Taurus by how hard she works and how she has upheld her family's traditions. Taureans are fond of the past and keeping the past alive.”

As the longest-serving monarch in British history, the Queen’s key traits of hard work and dedication are unmissable. At 92 years old, the Queen attended 283 engagements last year alone. Her only days off are Christmas Day and Easter Sunday.

Taureans also have a great fondness for things of beauty and comfort. Queen Elizabeth, who lives in multiple grand palaces throughout the year, also holds extravagant collections of art and jewels.

Taurus is a family-oriented sign—which makes perfect sense for the World of Windsor, which is all about birthright and bloodlines. And it’s this astrological tendency, says Bell, that may be why this family dynasty has lasted for centuries. “It’s not surprising that the sign they are all born under is Taurus, because that’s one of the more family- and home-oriented signs. So a large part of their purpose in life is to stick within their family and be reliable and hard-working.”

Although Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, and Baby Sussex aren’t full-time royals yet, when they do reach adulthood, don’t be surprised if they’re a chip off their grandma’s bullish block.
